Museum Dr. Guislain
Eind 2025 werd ROVER uitgenodigd om een lichtobject te ontwerpen en te realiseren voor de tentoonstelling Eigen Huis in het Guislainmuseum in Gent.Voor deze installatie vertrok ROVER vanuit een bijzonder uitgangspunt: oud medisch gereedschap uit de collectie van het museum. Deze historische objecten werden zorgvuldig geselecteerd en geïntegreerd in een monumentale, klassieke kroonluchter.
Door het medische instrumentarium te verwerken in een herkenbare, huiselijke vorm ontstaat een spanningsveld tussen intimiteit en vervreemding. De kroonluchter verwijst naar de sfeer van een interieur, maar draagt tegelijkertijd de beladen geschiedenis van de medische context in zich. Het lichtobject fungeert zo als een centraal scenografisch element binnen de tentoonstelling en nodigt bezoekers uit om op een andere manier naar deze objecten te kijken.
De scenografie van de tentoonstelling werd ontworpen door Tuur De Maegdt in samenwerking met schrijver Erwin Mortier.
